  • You're probably here because, for whatever reason (and there are lots of good ones), you hate giving out your main email address to everyone – and so do we. That's why we created Mailzinger. We wanted to protect our private addresses, and now you can, too. We don't sell your private details and information or monetize it in any way. We're a subscription based model, which means we make our money from paying customers, not from advertising or data mining. That's why we all use Mailzinger. All our friends do too.

  • Yes, but you will need a Mailzinger account to do it (it's free to sign up). Log in, go to the Dashboard, click Actions next to the relevant Mailzinger address and select 'Edit details' from the dropdown menu. Type your new address into the 'Forward-To Address' field and click Save. If this is the first time you've used this new address, we will send you an email so you can verify that you own it.

  • No. We're a forwarding service not an inbox (which means emails pass through our servers, they don't get stored on our servers). We don't have the desire, motivation or disk space to store your emails.

  • No. There's no benefit to us: we don't sell your information so we don't need to know anything about you. Besides, it's against everything we stand for.

  • Probably not. If you plan to use the email address once (and once only) then go to one of the excellent disposable email address (DEA) services like Mailinator or Trashmail. Mailzinger is a permanently forwarded email (PFE) service which is very different to a DEA.

  • Gmail doesn't offer traditional aliases, but you can receive messages sent to your.username+any.alias@gmail.com (note the use of the + character). For example, messages sent to jane.doe+notes@gmail.com are delivered to jane.doe@gmail.com. The difference is 'plus addressing' shows people your private Gmail address and lets them know you're using an alias. That's not private enough for us!

  • If you own a domain name with an active catch-all email address, you know that spammers pummel you with junk mail to every 'anyword@yourdomain.com' address they can automatically generate. Emails never bounce from a catch-all domain and the unscrupulous people who sell address lists to spammers love them. (Spammers pay more for lists with fewer bounces.)

Mailzinger is not a catch-all service. Each of your Mailzinger addresses is individually created. You get all the benefits of a catch-all service with none of the downsides.

  • We believe the benefit of using Mailzinger is that you only have to manage/administer/visit one inbox. No more missing emails because you were looking in Gmail but it came to your Yahoo inbox.

Mailzinger gives you complete control over who reaches your main private inbox so there's no need for more than one inbox.

  • Forwarding emails is virtually instantaneous. If you think you've missed an email, check Twitter. We use Twitter to provide service updates to our customers. We hardly need to use it at all ;->.

  • Upgrade your account! We drink a lot of coffee, so monthly premiums keep us in the java!

  • No! They're your friends, you can trust them. However, if your inbox has ever felt the impact of a friend's email account being hacked, you might find it helpful to give specific friends a Mailzinger address. Should something bad happen, you can immediately spot the problem, delete the address, alert your friend and create a new Mailzinger for them. Mailzinger saves your inbox!

  • No, we don't sell your private details or information, or monetize it in any way. We're a subscription based model, which means we make our money from paying customers, not from advertising or data mining.

  • The need for privacy, protection and control over your email and inbox has never been greater. Your online activity is tracked and more information about you is being stored than ever before. Mailzinger lets you separate your online activity from your personal identity. With spam, hacking and phishing attacks on the rise, and cybercrooks becoming more sophisticated, these attacks look increasingly genuine, and email becomes increasingly vulnerable. We offer a way to identify and eliminate problems before they become your problem.
